19 June 2008

Bid farewell to STC Partners, thank you Michael for coming after ur seminar, lots of good times I had while working with you. Really a touching moment though I didn't really say it that day. Don't know if it's true, everyone says that it was special, no one has that kind of farewell before. Glad to know if I am the first one, otherwise, it is still a really memorable one coz I never have any farewell party before. Coz I haven't really say it, I'll write it here, thanks Mimi for the chocolates, Jillian for the party preparations, Nick for giving out the ideas & picked up the foods, Mr.Bill for my monetary benefits, and Mr. Thum for your kind wishes. Good luck for Anna and Michael, I hope I didnt left a really big shoes to fill in. =p

Picked up by my sister Nathalia and my driver Kuat (literally means "strong"), they wait for more than an hour coz my Qantas flight was delayed. The morning start with a breakfast that my maid bought, Nasi Tim and sop bakso gepeng with sambel, really nice....we also ate our very own Mangga Gedong nyam..very sweet and juicy...then me & my sister we went to Mall Taman Anggrek, I open a new bank account then check out comics that I've missed at Gramedia, followed by eating cheese cake & drinking Mocha Frappucino at Starbucks. From thereon, the day was conclude with a dinner at Saung Grenvile with my future parents in law and my sister Nathalia. Dinner course : Udang Rebus (Steam King Prawns), Kepiting Lada Hitam (Crab - Black Pepper sauce), Kepiting Saus Tiram (Crab - Abalone Sauce?), Kepiting Telor Asin (Crab - Salty Egg sauce),  Udang Sambel Petai (Prawn - Hot Petai Bean sauce), Sambal Kangkung, Cah Toge (Stir Beansprout), Cumi Goreng Mentega, lalapan (timun dan selada).

21 June 2008

Morning breakfast : Nasi + ikan goreng + sambel terasi + sop pake brokoli + buah sawo. After that continue with reading my comics, around 12.30 pm, my future mother in law's driver came to pick me up, had hairdresser appointment at 1. We then went to a salon called Prinses, a guy called Yohanes then cut my & my future mother in law's hair. I wouldn't recommend this guy for anyone that can't stand if someone pulling your hair. IMO he is one rough blabbering mouth guy who has no style. But oh well, with the price that they charged, I just wish he could do it better i.e. not so rough. I supposed to get a new style but to me it looks like he just cut my hair shorter about 2 cm and thinning the bottom bit so the up side looks have more volume; not a change of style that I expect. Hate him for that. Follow on, after finished with the hairdresser, we went to eat noodle & rujak buah at Bakmie Permata, love the dessert and the noodles are not bad at all, I tried Bakmi Special Permata if i remember correctly. After that went back to my in law house to get some more food to bring to China then they drop me back at home. After that the day is wrapped by sending my parents & my sister to the airport, attending Cicely's & Koko wedding.

22 June 2008

Woke up at 9am, got a flight to catch at 11.40 am. Today morning breakfast is nasi uduk + dendeng that my grandma made, really delicious... Last minute packing, then my driver sent me off to the airport . Arrive in Beijing Airport, really stunned. My first step out of the plane, it was as if I am arriving in SIngapore Changi Airport. Really huge and classy. It is huge, the ceilings really look like the airport in Abu Dhabi but this one is grander with all the lights, dome shaped with high ceilings, it feels like I am inside a palace. Really nice, I'm amazed...they have changed everything, almost like Singapore airport. The immigration/custom check are really quick and they are all warm welcoming everyone, i click the "satisfied" button after he passed me back my passport. My sister picked my up and then we go out, queueing for taxi. To see other people actually queue for taxis and even there are people directing for which taxis to take, it really feels like arriving in Singapore airport. The taxi then run for 120km/s on the freeway/highway and the way he drive is really similar like my driver in Indonesia, slip here and there without signs and shockingly he spitted while driving but none was stick on the windows, he must've practised a lot. It was raining and from the taxi i saw a glimpse of the buildings for Olympics. The Bird nest is dark but you can see the silver lines. The Aqua building is cool, it glows with nice purple colours.  Arrive at my sister's apartment, typing this blog, now 2.12 am (23 June 08) time to sleep. Nite people.
